Beginner Knit Class
... Learn how to cast on, knit, purl, check gauge, bind off by starting with a washcloth then working on a hat (Beginner's Flat Hat) or scarf / cowl.
Dates: April 24, May 1, 8
Time: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Materials: 5 mm needles, 1 ball dishcloth cotton, 1 (hat) or 2(scarf) skeins worsted weight yarn
Cost: $30 plus materials
LEARN TO KNIT
Learn to knit a cotton dish cloth and fingerless mittens using basic skills including the knit stitch, purl stitch, casting on and binding off stitches, increasing/decreasing stitches, following a pattern and understanding common knitting terms and abbreviations. No experience required.
Monday, January 30, February 6, 13 and 20, from 1:00-3:00
Materials: Dish cloth cotton yarn and worsted weight yarn (gloves) 4.50 mm or 5.00 mm needles (light colored needles and yarn are recommended)

KNITTING SOCKS ON 4 NEEDLES
Learn to cast on and knit/purl using double pointed needles, how to create the heel flap and shape the heel, how to pick up stitches for the instep and to shape the instep and toe. Students should know how to follow a knitting pattern, cast on, knit, purl, decrease stitches and cast off.

HOODED BABY SWEATER 
Adorable hooded baby sweater knit in chunky yarn. Excellent for a beginner! Students should be able to cast on/off and do a basic knit stitch.

Join Meredith on Saturday April 22nd from 2pm to 4pm for a free Soap Saver Sack workshop. 
Grab small slivers or your cherished bar of handmade soap and place it in your handmade, soap saver sack. 

Patterns: Both knit and crochet versions provided. 
Please Bring: 100% cotton, linen, or hemp yarn in a fingering or worsted weight, corresponding double pointed needles/hooks.

FELTED SLIPPERS 
Learn to make beautiful and warm felted slippers for the whole family. Students should be able to use circular or double pointed needles to cast on/off, knit and purl, and increase/decrease stitches.

LEARN TO CROCHET 
Learn to chain, single crochet, double crochet, and how to read a crochet pattern. First project is a dishcloth then move on to a scarf or a hat. No experience required.
