Class Description:Learn to chain, single crochet, double crochet, and how to read a crochet pattern. First project is a dishcloth then move on to a scarf or a hat
Experience:No experience required.
Materials:Crochet cotton for dishcloth, worsted weight yarn for scarf/hat, 6 mm crochet hook, darning needle. Patterns will be provided.
Time: 1:00 - 3:00pm

Class Description:Knit a cotton dish cloth and fingerless mittens using basic skills including the knit stitch, purl stitch, casting on and binding off stitches, increasing/decreasing stitches, following a pattern and understanding common knitting terms and abbreviations.
Experience:No experience required.
Materials:Dish cloth cotton yarn and worsted weight yarn (gloves) 4.50 mm or 5.00 mm needles (light colored needles and yarn are recommended). Patterns will be provided.
Time:10:30am - 1:00pm

Class Description: Learn how to prepare and cut a steek in a tube of knitted fabric - without fear! Steeks can be used to open sweater fronts, armholes, neck holes, pocket openings, or anywhere else an opening in your knitting is desired. No steeking experience required. Prework for the class you need to knit a swatch of fabric in stockinette using a light-coloured worsted weight yarn that is either wool or mostly wool.  The swatch shoud be about 5 inches wide by 5 inches long.
Time: 1:00 – 3:00
Dates: Feb 15 or March 1


Class Description: Great first sweater project! Knit a raglan baby sweater top down on circular needles.  Once you have finished the class you will be able to knit a matching one for yourself! The pattern goes from newborn to adult size 4XL. Students should know how to follow a knitting pattern, cast on, knit, purl, increase and decrease stitches and cast off using circular or double pointed needles.
Time:  : 1:00 - 3:00
Dates:Feb 7, 14, 21, 28


Class Description : Learn how to knit socks on four needles from the top down, create the heel flap and shape the heel, how to pick up stitches for the instep and to shape the instep and toe. You should know basic knit and purl stitch, how to cast on and bind off stitches and follow a knitting pattern.
Time: 1:30 - 4:00
